Otar Bluashvili

finished musical schools specializing in violin and vocal, he also graduated from Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Arts specializing in solo singing. In 1971 he graduated from Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Physics. While studying at the university he sang in a choir directed by a well-known artist Temur Kevkhishvili. This is where he developed into a good Georgian song performer. At the Faculty of Physics, he directed a students’ ensemble performing folk songs. After graduation he worked at the telegraphic apparatus plant where he established a boys’ vocal ensemble. Simultaneously he worked at the Tram and Trolleybus Managing Division ensemble called Sinatlé. At that time Shalva Kovziridze, Avto Sarajishvili, ValodiaPotskhverashvili, Titiko Vepkhvadze, Jemal Tskhvediani, Garsevan Sikharulidze and others sang in the ensemble. Such leading figures had great impact on the development of the young singer into a professional musician. From 1976 till present he has worked at Georgian State National Singing and Dancing Academic Ensemble Erisioni initially directed by Guram Bakradze and then by Jemal Chkuaseli. From 1998 he was a soloist singer, performing mainly Kartl-Kakhetian songs, later he fulfilled the duties of the managing director.
